The Red Sea is one of the most beautiful diving areas where I have
ever dived. It is the closest tropical sea to Europe. In its northern part
it hides many of wracks from the II. world war. Not so far from Safaga
there is lying the ship Salem Express, which sank at one of the many coral
reefs before Safaga. This area is cemetery for more than 800 passengers! A
lot of empty boats, children toys, suitcases, TV sets and video recorders
are mute witnesses of this tragedy from 1991.
The cruising in the Red Sea southern from El Quesir was not so
exciting except Elphinstone reef, which is covered by gardens of soft
corals. As far as I have recognized there are namely many of hard corals
in this southern area. The most beautiful dives in Red Sea I have made in national park
Ras Muhammad on Sinai. I recommend diving here to all of the divers!
Probably I was the most deeply touched in my soul by diving with the
dolphin Olin in Nuweiba. I have dived two hours almost alone with her. I
had feeling the she enjoy as a photo model as well as I as a photographer.
I did not follow her because I was to slow. I let her to come closer to
me. Then I have started with the most attractive photo session I have ever
made. Unfortunately there are only 36 slides on the film. In the afternoon
I had the opportunity to enjoy this dreams again. The dolphins are really
so close to the human.
